Two Tiny Wasps
I haven't been able to identify these, but they could be of the genus Cerceris, called knoopwespen in Dutch. The ones in the photos were very small, about 10mm (0.4").
Very big eyes on this one, well, relative to its body, that is:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 42mm, ISO800, f8, 1/20s
A similar one, digging away:
Olympus XZ-1, 28mm, ISO400, f4, 1/250s
All hints for identifying these are welcome, but it's fine if you just look at them as well.
The're are commonly two types of wasps, solitary wasps and social wasps. Social wasp species live in large
Really awesome photography......
Wow that is a hard shot to get. Great effort!
Can't wait for your new posts as I discovered your blog only today.
Have an amazing day!
Accurate images
But I think the picture is given a little softness again it is better and beautiful when in view
Sorry, I can't help identify them, but they are super cool looking and very well captured by you.
Great images! Although whatever they are, I like butterflies better!
No clue, but being across the ocean does not help, except very hornet like.
Though the thumbnail DID provide a first thought, "Painting of Great White Shark with Large, Over-whitened Teeth, Pushing Headlong Through Huge Orange Cloud Of Gathering Krill In Pacific Ocean".
Maybe I need some lunch...
I have the flu and a high fever; I think your first thought is perfectly reasonable. I've been seeing similar things.
Hate that stuff, particularly the fever. Makes the mind all wonky and seeing odd things, as you say....even dryland sharks. Hope you are feeling better today, and on the mend. Dr. Schteinn says: Drink lots of fluids, watch humorous movies, and stay away from the trending page.
