We instantly recognise iconic film scenes starring the likes of Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffanys and Mia in Pulp Fiction. These are some of the few popular Western movies that have dominated the pop culture all around the globe. But how pop culture travels from one place to another.

It’s worth to give the attention to Dakar-based photographers Antoine Tempe and Omar Victor Diop, who set on a mission to investigate how some of the movie scenes would look like if they were shot in Africa, in Abidjan, Nigeria, and in Dakar, Senegal.

The results are 14 eye-opening and wonderfully recreated movie scenes, remixing Hollywood, that will certainly trigger your curiosity to travel overseas to Africa at once!
