Abandoned Gas Station on way to Las Vegas + Sneak Peak!steemCreated with Sketch.

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

I took a trip to Las Vegas for work and saw this cool abandoned gas station that was right off the freeway.

I wonder how long this has been abandoned for by now, but by the way it looks it seems like it has been for over a century!

It seems like many people tried to get inside to take some pictures, i had driven all the way around the back and thru some dirt roads to actually pull inside and get some pictures at "The Pump" !!

If anyone ever get's the chance to drive to Las Vegas from Los Angeles, you have to stop there!! It's about 5 miles past Baker and you won't miss it. Also, about 30 minutes before Baker there is an OLD abandoned water park that is right off the freeway, unfortunately i did not stop there as i was getting short on time, but, on my next trip i will defiantly have to check it out. The park is actually called The Rock-A-Hoola Waterpark, check it out on Google... it looks really amazing!

Hope you guys enjoy these photos. All images where taken with a iPhone 7

Also, be prepared for an amazing picture that will be coming in the next few days...little hit.. It's at night and has the word "Milky" in it. :)

It's really a shame that so much culture has dissappeared as the major highways and big conglomerate companies moved in pushing the mom and pop places out.

Cool Bentley by the way @patrickstern, I'm not sure if they would have carried the high end gas for it.

I know, i really don't like shopping or, i should say i try to avoid any big corporations as much as i can and support more of the local businesses.

Ha, @freeinthought it's actually a Hyundai Genesis, not a Bentley. It's badge looks similar to one though.

@patrickstern, I'm not a car expert clearly as it fooled me. It certainly still looks like a million bucks. Nice car.

Haha, no worries at all, i get that a lot when people thing it's a more expensive car and then i tell them it's only a "Hyundai" :)

Cool pics! :-)

really great pics I like this place thanks a lot for sharing and keep on posting ;)

Thanks for the kind words! :)

There's just something fascinating about abandoned places in the middle of nowhere. A little curious, a little sad, but interesting.

There is, it's like you said, sad, interesting... specially because you know that it was probably a great stop back in the day!

Cool! I love old places and pics of old places.

I actually just saw that they also have an actual abandoned ghost town not too far away from this gas station you can drive up to, has about 20 or so buildings.. next time i will make sure and stop at all these cool places.

Get pictures if you do! There's this woman on YouTube that calls herself Wonder Hussey, that you might be interested in following. She goes to abandoned places and ghost towns and explores or camps. Kinda cool.

Oh wow, i checked it out! Thanks so much for introducing me to that.

Cool, glad you liked it :)
