My tour of Miyajima island was so cool! Very beautiful. Lots of shrines and good scenery views if you go up the hill.

The picture that I took is the Great Torii Gate. A torii (鳥居, literally bird abode) is a sacred traditional Japanese gate mostly found at the entrance of many shrines.
There are many beliefs, legendary and mythological theories of it and it's origin.
One of them:
When the Goddess Amaterasu hid in the heavenly cave (ama no iwato), the world was shrouded in darkness. The other spirits arranged for the "eternal long crowing birds" (cockerels) to roost and crow, and then Amaterasu came out of the cave and the world regained the light.

It symbolically marks the transition from the profane to sacred

The one in the picture is a very famous one and it's been enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The very speciality of this???? It does not move, nor fall, in spite of typhoons or earthquakes.

I definitely recommend you to visit this place if you ever happen to be in Japan or if you visit Hiroshima. It's for sure worth it.
