Windows of the old Durán Sanatorium.
At the beggining of the 20th century, in the province of Cartago, Costa Rica, the Sanatario Duran was a first world hospital dedicated to the treatment of tubercolosis. Time passed and then this building was used as a juvenile penitentiary, but in the 80´s a fire took place and the historical structure became abandoned. Nowadays, the once hospital, is visited only by tourists attracted by terror tales, nevertheless it is still possible to find within it, some of the charm inmersed in it´s walls and the rural landscape of the sorroundings.

The Sanatorium in Costa Rica is located in a beautiful place on the slopes of the Irazú volcano, in its best years it should have been a beautiful place. Today some parts of the building are under restoration.
