Luke and Leia - Twin Cats that We Rescued [and the story behind their names]

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

We found them a couple of days before Christmas last year - they were loitering outside our apartment block and kinda just followed us home lol. Cheeky little buggers both of them.

They're brother-sister from a larger litter is what we found out later. The male sadly seemed to have had part of his tail chopped off before we found him - but he's super curious and hyperkinetic - so we called him Luke!

The female, shortly after we had found them, managed to get herself stuck in a drain pipe with only one point of entry/exit - we were able to rescue her 16 hours nerve-wracking hours later - she came back from the dead in a way so we called her Leia. [that's a Last Jedi reference, in case you were wondering lol]

Most cats sleep around 16 hours a day

Mountain lions are strong jumpers, thanks to muscular hind legs that are longer than their front legs.
