Lakhey - demon
Lakhey dance is one of the popular dances and traditions that arises from Newari culture, where th performers put on the custume of Lakhe and the mask. The dance is performed during different festivals in the the cites. Lakhes are the demons who used to live in the forests but later on they became the protectors people in th town.
So, they celebrate this festival in various occasion.

When I was a kid , I used to get terrified of this dance. The monstaer with mask, long haair with long swords. Kids used to run away. Later, when I grew up, I started to enjoy.

Lakhes are worshipped as a deity. The city dwellers offer food and other ritual items to them as they moves through the city accompanied by the musical band giving dance performances.

The picture below is of the women in traditional custumes playing traditional musical instruments during the New Year parade. The people from these community also performs a unique festival called "Mha puja" where a person worships own body - as a respect towards own soul. The whole year we worships lords, gods and other deities. This is the day, when peoplle worships own inner soul.
