Abandoned hospital no. 3 back in the days

It's a rather grim story for a building that was the third hospital in Wallachia, the Philanthropy Hospital.

The center was built at the beginning of the 19th century, under the name of the People's Love Hospital, through a donation collection organized by Dumitru Caracaş, director of the Pantelimon Hospital, who had worked free here until the end of his life.

On the entry plate, we found out that responsible for the consolidation of the two bodies is SC Prominvest Carpaţi Nord SRL, a company on the verge of bankruptcy, so we can also understand why one of the oldest hospitals has come to need medical care.

The interior still retains the texture elements of the golden age. If you have ever played S.T.A.L.K.E.R., you will notice the similarities between the hospital atmosphere and Chernobyl.

The building has a special personality. Details such as window skylights or semicircular stairways show that it was raised before Ceausescu.

The last floor seemed like a construction site, if I had no windows, I would have said I was in the underground parking lot at the University.

Apocalyptic clouds covered the entire area. On the roof terrace, the view was like an industrial area on the outskirts of the irradiated Pripiat, near Chernobyl.

I found out that the members of the most radical artistic group after World War II, the White Eagles, were meeting in an annex of the hospital. They called it the Incubator. They were some kind of hipsters of the 20th century who did not like any kind of ideology.

In 1948 the Incubator was attacked by the regime. The eagles were arrested and charged with lawsuits accusing them of sabotaging the regime and wishing to start a new world war.

The Philanthropy Hospital is not abandoned altogether, but it seems to me sinister that, beside the active part, clean, where people are now treated, these old and dirty parts of the hospitals still exist and increase the risk of infection in the area. This is the first time where I agree on the fact that a demolition should occur.
