Chiajna Monastery was built at the end of the 18th century, during the reign of Alexander Ipsilanti, and was to be one of the most important places of worship of the time. But something did not go according to the plan. Even before the priests sanctified it, the Turks came and bombed it. They thought it was a fortress. Maybe they apologized after, but bad luck knocked back to the church door. A terrible plague swept over the entire area, and the monastery was abandoned, and even it is said that the Metropolitan of Walachia, Cozma, died for this reason between its walls.

This has turned from a potential place of worship into one of the most hunted abandoned objectives of Bucharest. In 1995 there were several scenes from Crai's old movie, but also the well-known and controversial documentary Bucharest 13.

Well, today things have changed to Chiajna Monastery. Since 2011, the archdiocese has taken the ruin. Now it's surrounded by a fence, and there are some cells in front of her. The weeds disappeared, and the entire monastery was endowed with divine accessories. Finally, promised sanctification took place!

In the east wall, the windows and cracks were shaped like a candle. On moonlit nights, a myth says the bell is heard beating, though the Turks drove it to Dambovita in the past. It is rumored that faces appear and disappear on the facade of the monastery.

The walls of the monastery are full of the signatures of old guests. And, as we have seen, the gang has grown, so other faces appeared in the landscape.

The building looks creepy, more than the ruins of the old medieval castles. After the monastery's tower fell to the '77 earthquake, crows began to plunge through the new hole.
