A trip to...Mount of Beatitudes, Israel

I've been deployed to the Golan Heights for around 3 months now and it was great to get out last weekend on a welfare trip into Israel for the day for a little R&R.

We visited a few places throughout the day and ended in the waterpark at Gai beach in Tiberias.

Although I am not religious at all and don't believe in any of the religious history it was interesting learning and seeing a place that was allegedly signifigant.

The mount of Beatitudes was allegedly where Jesus gave his final sermon on the mount. Aside from that, the place was very beautiful and peaceful and a nice little break away from hearing the war going on a few kilometres away from our camp. It sits high above the sea of Galilee and offeres stunning views of the landscape below.

In all it was a nice peaceful break from a hectic part of the world and a nice stop on our tour for the day.
