Talk about a perfect reflection
Lake Matheson - New Zealand, probably photographed millions of times is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever witnessed. They don't call it mirror lake for nothing it seems...
On a clear morning the waters would be so still that the lake would look no less than a mirror. Surrounded by ancient forests and overlooked by glaciers and the highest mountains in the country, she sure is a beauty. On all photos Aoraki/ Mount Cook and Mount Tasman are visible in the back.
There is a hiking path that follows the edges of the lake, every now and then showing another amazing view of the waters. If you're ever in New Zealand (do that anyway!), visiting this lake is a must. As the waters are usually still early in the morning, this is the best time to visit. You'll avoid the crowds too.
Looks great, doesn't it?
