My favourites sunsets around the world... have you been there?
Photo ranking #1 | Beautiful sunsets
Dear Steemians,
Here are five of my favourites sunsets around the world.
They are not "sunsets" but they are of being at sunset time in beautiful places.
1. Dasht-e Lut, Lut Desert, Iran
The main reason to come to Kerman, a city near the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan, was to visit the Kaluts desert, known for its high rock formations that emulate sand castles. The best time to visit the desert is at sunset, where the rocks take impressive grayish and sandstone colors.
2. El Nido, Philippines
The beautiful sunset in Las Cabañas can be seen from the beach itself, as well as from the viewpoint on the road. Both are worth it. This one is from the viewpoint in the road.
3. U-Bein bridge, Amarapura, Mandalay, Myanmar
What amazed us about our visit to Mandalay was Amarapura, 11 kilometers south of the city. This place is famous for the 1.2-kilometer-long wooden U-Bein bridge (although in some parts it is rebuilt with cement blocks) that crosses Lake Taungthaman. It is used daily by locals and monks (and by tourists), since on the other side of the lake there is a town and a pagoda.
4. Cappadocia, Turkey
Capadocia is one of the most spectacular scenarios created by the continuous erosion of winds and rains over millions of years. We did a trek through the Red Valley and at the end, we caught the sunset over the town of Göreme and the valley. Impressive.
5. Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka
What we did like about the ancient city of Polonnaruwa was its artificial lagoon, Parakrama Samudraya. We rented a bike and at the end of the day we went to see the sunset there along with the work of the fishermen in their boats.
Hope you enjoyed this article and liked the photos.
Have a nice day,
Flor
