Peering on the Pier

Hi! I'm Sally and I live in the (mainly) beautiful corner of Wales that is Swansea.
I'm brand new to Steemit but am very excited about being a part of it. I'll be posting my photography and sketches, perhaps some poetry if I'm brave enough!

I'll kick off with a photo that's been a big hit on my Instagram account (@salmorrison). I love Mumbles Pier and the lighthouse, but wanted to try something a bit different. There are some beautiful wrought iron fences on the Pier, that just happen to have circles in them - perfect for framing the lighthouse!

As I was there a while, people were coming and going. I've captured a few different shots but this one's me favourite. Is it a selfie or a shot of the coast? Well, we'll never know but either way my mystery model makes a great addition to this quirky shot, don't you think?

The photo is taken on a Nikon D3300 with a standard 18-50mm lens. I've edited it in Lightroom, not much work was needed but I toned down the contrast and brightness and did a hard crop to focus in on just the one circle. I always enjoy a little highlight tweak too so that's in here as well!
