Climb up and see more

Enjoy the view
I did so in my hometown Lucerne, in the heart of Switzerland. Our mountain, Pilatus, right next door has the world's steepest cogwheel on one side and a new panorama gondola on the other side.

Hike up
But it is even more beautiful to hike. From Lucerne by boat to Alpnach, and then walk up. There are about 1670 meters in altitude. Depending on the trail, this takes between four and five hours. If you walk up, take note of the weather report and the right equipment, it can be very dangerous on the mountain.

The reward
A really beautiful nature and at the end a magnificent view over Lucerne is the reward. On nice days you can see all the way to the German border.

The Hotel
If you are staying overnight, it has a very nice hotel at the top. It is not cheap. Nevertheless, I think it's worth it. The dinner and also the breakfast are terrific.
