The Cross at the Crossroads

in #photography6 years ago

Effingham is the historic crossing point of Illinois interstates, highways, and railroads. This city greets visitors with a mighty 198-foot (60 m) cross built in 2001. The Cross at the Crossroads has a visitor center, chapel, and the cross its self is circled by an interactive monument for each of the Ten Commandments.

Ten Commandments

Each Commandment has a bench and a button to play an audible recording, while overlooking the words etched into a very shiny stone monument.

I started on my right and went counter clockwise around the cross to each monument. I listened to each recording and found the audio was very well done and not just reading the stones.
