Monash University, Clayton Campus Scenic Area

in #photography7 years ago

Hello everyone!!

In this post, I'm going to write about the lesser known area in Monash University, Clayton, Australia campus. I'm currently staying opposite this campus, so I would visit this place from time to time (to kill time). The first time I walked into this campus, I went to the lakeside and the Aboriginal Gardens. Well, I am a junkie for nature :P so this particular area would attract me the most.

I feel this place is a hidden gem in the Clayton area. When I talked to 2 of my friends (studied in Monash, Clayton campus), they had no idea this place existed, or they just heard about it but don't know where (like Atlantis or Area 51?? hahaha). So, I'm here to introduce this area so everyone has a chance to visit this area someday :)

Without further ado, below is a bird's eye view of the Monash Clayton Campus and how to get to the lake from the campus bus station. Just head northeast. It's at the end, walking distance about 15 - 20 minutes.

When you see this view, you are very close. In fact, you're already looking at the lake.

This sign is a confirmation that you reached your destination. Just turn right.

There are several benches for you to sit and chill around the lake. Like this one :D Some are shaded from the sun by the surrounding trees and the occasional wind breeze make this place extremely relaxing.

If you turned left after the Aboriginal Gardens signage, you will see this dreamy path. It leads to the other side of the lake.

Finally, I manage to unload these pictures into Steemit. This post has been on my mind for the past couple of weeks but did not get a chance for a write-up, as I was busy looking for a house to lease with a friend. I was able to finalize a lease about 2-3 days ago :D In Point Cook!! yay ! I paid a visit to that suburb, and the environment seems nice :) less people, lesser cars, more greens, less buildings. If I found any nice spot for photography there, I will be sure to post another blog like this on Steemit :) until then, stay tuned and thanks for reading! :D

Whoa! That's a gorgeous area, man! Must be real nice taking a walk down that side :)

ya man :D but towards late afternoon or evening, mosquitoes start roaming about, it kind of spoil the mood around the lake.

Oh, looks beautiful! I was actually going to study in Caulfield until my mum fell ill. So, I ended up staying in KL, so studying at Malaysian Campus instead.

Hi @tadstrange! thanks for reading my post :D
Sorry about your mom, I hope she gets well soon. Monash campus in Sunway, Malaysia is not bad too :D
Lots of amenities and walking distance to Sunway Pyramid ;)

Yeah studying in the sunway area is so convenient, lots of makan places. Lots of entertainment like the VR Lab and Games Fusion at Nadayu. I also got my first semi-consistent job as a haunted house scarer at Sunway Lagoon (Every October)
