Cyclone Summer

For some people summer is made up of idyllic days basking in the warmth of a calm summers day, lovely. This is what you would usually expect when you decide to come to Mauritius for a break during the long Northern winter. However, for some the ideal summers day is the thumping wind and the breaking waves of a summer storm. For some, this is what you through the winter months. I have been in Mauritius for two months now and the locals have told me they have never seen a summer 'this bad'. We have had cyclone after cyclone tearing their way down the Indian Ocean and whipping past the tiny paradise ocean. However, for us, this cyclone summer has been a dream. The wind has been pumping, we have been out on the water as much as possible. Sea spray in the face, wind in the hair and full power in the sails.
