''The work built on a high hill on the back of a flashlight is very similar to a castle from the school. At first sight, everyone who falls to Fener for the first time thinks that the church is Konstantinos Dimadis who graduated from this school at the same time. Information on the date of construction of the school was written in 1881, along with the sign of the calf. The land in which the school was built belongs to Dimitri Kantemir, who also graduated from this school.
After the conquest of Istanbul, the school opened in 1454 with the permission of Fatih Sultan Mehmet, the Patriarch Gennadios, was recognized as "Mektebi-i Kebir". It is the second largest structure of the Golden Horn after Süleymaniye Mosque. The reason why the school now gives its red appearance is the construction of fire bricks from Marseilles.
The school is only accessible with permission, the classes are in the form of an amphitheater and the walls and ceiling of the meeting room are worth seeing. Tavanda Hz. Picture of Jesus, pictures of Homer from the walls, a campaign of Alexander the Great and a talk of Pericles. The picture class on the dome has an interesting feature. The clock machine outside the school is in this class.''
