MyPictureDay #16 Contest Winners

Thank you to everyone who participated in the sixteenth MyPictureDay photography challenge. You gave me a really hard time picking the winners. In round #15 some Steemians did a very good research and found out that some of the pictures that were among the winners were much older than the rules allow. Since I already announce them as winners the rewards are still theirs. However, with this round, we will double check every single post. Read the following rules carefully to avoid being disqualified! MyPictureDay is about going out, taking pictures and share your passion. It's about telling stories and capture moments for us. Using old pictures is against the essence of this contest.

There were many good entries and I proudly present you the first three places and some honorable mentions!

The Rules!

Let us know how your PhotographyDay looks like! Grab your camera (or mobile phone) and go out, take some shots and share them on Steemit!

The best PictureDay post gets 20 SBD onto his account, the second place 10 SBD and the third place 5 SBD.

How to you participate?

  • Make a photography post with at least three shots and tag them with the hashtag: mypictureday and photography, resteem this post.
  • Important! Write MyPictureDay in the title of the post. For instance: Flower Power - MyPictureDay Submission
  • Only use your own work. You are not allowed to use any stock images. Every entry will be reverse-searched and automatically disqualified when other peoples content was found.
  • The pictures must be from the week of the entry.
  • Deadline for your entry is Sunday 25.02, 8 pm UTC.
  • Write us what you did on this day and what camera you used for your shots.
  • You can use any device that takes pictures. iPhones, DSLRs, analog cameras, any phone etc.

Sort:

That contest is the most badass I've ever seen lol.
A man walking in the mountain of marshmallows, extraordinary UFO clouds (they are so extraordinary that I'm still doubting they are real). And the strongest man on the earth breaking stone with his bare hands!
Congrats to winners!

Best comment I read today!

lol. sarcasm at its finest.

Yup, those clouds are real :) This day was quite extraordinary though, which was the driving force for me to go out and take those pictures.

beautiful scenery

When you want to Flag them but see their Steem power lol

just a joke, please don't downvote me lol

I might power up more to be prepared

Hehe, nice one!

I agree with you 100 percent :)

I like picture 2, showing some clouds as if someone deliberately shaped and painted them on canvas. Picture 3 tells a very important story. The soil that almost turned into bricks and the green crops that fought to survive. They're all deserving. What an inspiring selection!

Thank you for the second place selection!

Wow, those are awesome photo's. I honestly just thought today that I wanted to sell my camera's but now I think I really want to use them to join in the fun contests and challenges. That first place picture is surely a sight to see and to imagine this is something they recently saw within that same week is even more.... )

Me encanta la forma en la que haces tus publicaciones

i truly believe that your contest is by far the best in all steemit community
congratulations to all winners.Their pictures are brilliant.... hoping to win it some day ......

I like the snow mountain pic!

Such a great idea, amazing photos too!

Here we go for this week:
MyPictureDay Submission - KLAIPEDA FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS

https://steemit.com/mypictureday/@axeman/mypictureday-submission-klaipeda-festival-of-lights

Mount Shasta~ Slice of heaven right there..... I can only imagine what was goin on at the base of that mountain to pull those clouds in..... nice catch @edward.maesen .

Thank you! The haziness at the base of the mountain in combination with the lenticular clouds was quite unusual. This place is by many considered an energetic vortex so there's more going on than meets the eye...

Oh don’t I know it. After traveling by thumb for years, if a fellow traveler was not heard from for a bit they would most likely be found here. Or Arcata .... maby San Francisco.... but then there was boulder or Eugene OR. Mostly somewhere at the base of Mount Shasta.... I would just have to follow the beat in order to find them …🎶

Ah... sounds like you are in tune with what's going on here... :)

Not trying to be that guy, but again, these photographers broke the rules. These photos were not taken within the week of the contest.

3rd place: The picture was posted with immediately within 24 hours of the original contest post. This is within the rules, but very interesting... also the meta-data from the photos has been conveniently stripped, so it doesn't show the dates. Also, the user has no previous social media, and is using a vast assortment of photos across a ton of different contest, which makes me think these are backlogged. However, no evidence, and it's the closest to the rules.

2nd place: Took his photos before the contest by 2 days, and then posted them. Sorry, but that still is not within the rules. The meta data in the photo shows this. You can tell it's the meta from his photo, as it has the same name as his user account.

1st Place: Also broke the rules. Taking the meta data from the same shot he posted on his website, we can see the photo was created 9 days ago, at least a 1.5 days before the contest start.

Again, you need to have people take a shot of them with some sort of proof of them TAKING the shot DURING the allotted week. Not sure how you would incorporate this, but otherwise people are competing with others that are winning, but breaking the rules.
