Mammals In Safe Custody : Animal Photography
Elephants, as we all know, are gregarious creatures. In the wild, they reside in large family groups. Males do not leave their mothers until they are fifteen years old, but girls remain with their mothers, sisters, and other female relatives for the rest of their lives. During the day, these incredible creatures travel tens of kilometres.
Most zoos, according to many academics and animal advocates, are unable to provide all of these and other physical, psychological, and social needs of elephants. Elephant habitat in zoos is frequently insufficient for these giants to live a comfortable existence. Elephants' well-established relationships are frequently shattered when they are moved from one zoo to another to reproduce.
Elephants suffer from a variety of health problems as a result of all of these conditions. They are the reason that many animal rights organisations are always opposed to the zoo keeping of rare creatures.
