The difference between a FAKE and a GENUINE Hot Toy

Counterfeit goods are part of many industries today and in the high end Collectable market there are a few attempts that may pass the average consumer.

Pictures below is the genuine Blade figure from Hot Toys 👍

I'm sure you'll agree the detail and quality is amazing - this is a dated figure now released in 2009 this has stood the test of time. Which is yet to be re created by any of the leading companies.

Below is the counterfeit - although advertised using non branded names the company is able to recreate the product to a reasonable standard.

Like Rolex , or Nike when in hand the product speaks for itself and the details up close are very noticeable.
The attempt is a good one but it would take a keen eye to spot the difference. Obviously photographed up close the difference is really noticeable.

The mould of the original is clearly noticeable as the size of the fake is slightly smaller. The paint work doesn't come close to the genuine and is extremely clear to see the quality difference.

The question is - do the counterfeit products take away any real value or quality away from the original ?

Bottom line is a company who produce products to a high volume of enthusiasts pay for that quality. More than just the paint work it's the packaging , the tailoring , and the detail that sets the company apart from any other. As well as having the funding to acquire the rights to the liscence to produce the figure from the film!
