La Boqueria - Barcelona, Spain
If you like food markets, variety and atmosphere, this market has it all. Very busy market with everything you could imagine from seafood, meats, vegetarian, fresh juices, desserts and the list goes on... The market is located about half way down La Rambla and It has a fantastic energy and a great street vibe.
Avoid going during peak meal times as it can get quite crowded. The front stalls get very busy, walk towards the back a bit and find so much more to see and a few less people. Go from stall to stall, walking up and down the aisles to see, smell and enjoy the tastes of Barcelona.
The best tapas bar is right in the middle of the market, excellent value for money, the food doesn't get more fresh then that. Definitely try the fresh fruit juices and chocolate dipped strawberries. So if you need to fill an hour or so, or perhaps the weather is not so good then you must not miss this market its a feast for all the senses.
