Photo puzzle - Name the city [3 SBD reward pool]steemCreated with Sketch.

in #photopuzzle6 years ago (edited)

Puzzle solved! After removing only one puzzle piece (B2) which revealed nothing else but blue sky, @obvious gave the correct answer. The photo was taken in Düsseldorf! Congrats, @obvious. You see me deeply puzzled ;)

Greetings Steemians!

Let’s try a little fun game:

In which city have I taken this photo?

IMG_1080-B2.jpg

Name the puzzle piece in a comment that you want to see removed next. Reply with your guess as soon as I have updated the image accordingly.

First correct answer will be rewarded with 3 SBD minus 0.25 SBD for each removed puzzle piece.

Only the Steemian who has removed a puzzle piece can place the subsequent guess. Puzzle pieces will be removed in chronological order.

Let’s see how this works out :)

Have fun and happy guessing!

Shaka

Thanks a lot for participating! The puzzle was solved already.

Yes, I see... @obvious was savvy and fast. ))

Ahhahahaha!
I just read your latest post and thought: Huh? What, what should I guess? And only then did I gradually come to the conclusion that everything had already been solved and that the riddle no longer existed.

But what a beautiful and creative idea that is! Next time I want to join in and see a particle disappear that might bring me closer to the solution.

It's great that you're expanding your frame and letting photography come up with new ideas. I also love to experiment and don't like to limit myself to something repetitive for a long time.

Thumbs up for this beautiful imaginative refreshing post!

Hi Erika, sorry for my late reply, I was out in the sticks for the last 3 days..

Thanks for your positive comment, I'm glad that you like this fun idea. I think I'll continue this in a weekly format, so I'll bring up the next puzzle on Wednesday!

Cheers!

Thanks for letting me know, so I can partake in the next riddle.

No problem with late replies, I was lazy myself and made a trip over the weekend, not in the sticks but in the sand. :)

what?
there was this?
am missing out on so many things lately :D

updated, please place your guess.

Absolutely unbelievable, Düsseldorf is the correct answer! What was it, the shade of blue? Incredible...

Congratulations, 2.75 SBD are on their way.

Yeah, it was the blue.. I compared it to images in your previous posts.. here is how it looked like:

and i thought, the blue gradient seems to be very similiar to that, so I guessed the city ;)

Just lucky ;)

Congratulations, @obvious, that was an exemplary research :)

Oh, wow, now when you showed the hidden image, its really unbeliebale that I guessed the exact image.. Damn, I'm goood!

Well done @obvious - that was amazing sleuthing skills. Wow @shaka great idea and can you believe that fast puzzle solving skill! Am I the only one that reads posts and comments? I see you still have guesses that can't read ;)

Love the idea @shaka :)

I wonder how automated and interactive it could be? A self updating post based on comments would be pretty handy for some things like auctions.

Now, that would be a killer feature at steemblockchain, @tarazkp. But I’m afraid it won’t be possibe… we are in third year, and we still don’t have a reliable search machine yet, which should be easier to implement.

Thank you very much @obvious, I have tried it without reading instructions and was deeply disappointed at first. But after reading it, I can say it is an excellent addition to the Steemit Toolkit. Finally! Bravo @good-karma!

My only suggestion would be that homepage must have either help link or at least few simple examples how to use it.

Thanks @tarazkp, glad to hear that!

I realised already the potential difficulties in doing this manually. E.g. if someone names a puzzle piece to be removed but then doesn't place a guess right afterwards the entire flow is stalled. So I would need to define a time-window in which a guess needs to be placed. Then again, users who are next in the row need to be notified as soon as it is their turn so that they don't miss their time window.

Really tricky. Automation could probably solve this but this is unfortunately not within my capabilities. Let's see, a few people come to my mind with whom I could talk about it.

Thanks for you comment!

It would be an interesting interface to be able to build little games and competitions on. With some thought and creativity I am pretty sure that someone could make a decent and fun app. :)

I would suggest you get in contact with @lordnigel. He has this intaractive adventure game #ibt that relies on users giving commands with a comment and there is a program answering and calculation your points.
For the timing problem I would suggest that you have some pictures ready for a post (lets say 10) and just only allow 10 players per round. Maybe if they don't proceed within 1hr you could open up your spot. Or you just go wild west style and just let everybody turn a tile (maybe only every 10min?) and just award the fastest player.

Thank you for your input! I will sure have a look into this game, haven't yet heard about it.

Wah! Im too slow :( better luck next time. By the way, i really like the idea. Great job on this @shaka 👏👏👏

Im looking forward to a Dapp that can have photo puzzles or games like this one😉

Resteemed!

Thanks @funtraveller ! A Dapp for puzzles like this would be awesome, indeed!

Wow Glückwunsch @obvious - das war clever!!!!
Super Idee @ shaka - ich mag die Rätsel, die immer mal wieder deine Fotos zieren ;-) Gerne weitere!

Good idea for a ever lasting game on the Steem, @shaka. I'm deeply impressed.

Thank you @afrog , I'm glad that this type of puzzle is so well perceived.

Oh, I came too late to join the game... so maybe next time I´ll be ready to play! :) Congrats, @obvious;)

Thanks a lot for participating! The puzzle was solved already.

You are always welcome @shaka. But @obvious destroyed this format of the game ;)

I wouldn't see it that way. The next photo I'm going to use will not be found in my blog, so let's see how that goes :)

Thanks for participating, B4 will be removed as soon as @obvious has placed a guess.
