Tokyo Tower
The 634m-tall Tokyo Skytree in Sumida Ward of Tokyo district has taken over the job as a broadcasting site for the Kanto region as the older Tokyo Tower could no longer broadcast as efficiently due to rapid urbanization of the areas around it. It also doubles as a tourist attraction with a myriad of shops around it, together with observation decks, an aquarium and planetariums, and thus attracting many tourists to the district in the past few years.
However, there's still this special charm with Tokyo Tower that makes me favor it more than the futuristic Skytree. It's really difficult for me to put a finger to pinpoint the source of this charm though - perhaps it's its color combination with its light-ups, or perhaps it's how it fits in and integrates so well with its surrounding?
Nevertheless, it always heartens me when I manage to catch a glimpse of Tokyo Tower in the horizon as I walk through the streets of Tokyo.
