Backyard Birds
Hello all,
At the moment I am still waiting for verification of several exchanges to start my investing in crypto, very happy to see steem going up, I really believe in the site and the idea behind it, wish more people would realize how blockchain technology will change the world, instead of just a quick way of making money.
This post will be just a random rant about something I am thinking about today
Sinced I moved to my new house in Diablo, I haven't been able to do continue a recently acquired hobby I very much enjoyed, which was going to my back yard drink my morning coffee and take some pictures of some very cool looking birds.
Although I have no background what so ever in photography I thought it would be interesting to take pictures of birds in my backyard..
I first had this idea, when I had to wake up at 4am, to go to work in the pediatric burn unit in my hospital, Hospital del Niño, in which it was required to arrive at more or less 6am, I am not a morning guy btw, waking up so early was horrible.
But luckily, I was able to find, as I always try to do, something positive out of this adverse month in the burn unit rotation. In school here in panama everyone learns that the avifauna of Panama includes a total of 981 species, which is a very large amount of species, of which most panamanians are very proud of. For those who dont know Panama is a country in Central America. It is bordered by Costa Rica to the west, Colombia (in South America) to the southeast, the Caribbean Sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. The capital and largest city is Panama City, whose metropolitan area is home to nearly half of the country's 4 million people.
I really enjoyed just waking up, sipping my morning coffee (which I love more than life itself) and having this small spiritual moment to be aware of my surroundings, to be thankful for the moment I was living, to be one with nature and start my day with some positive feelings.
I did this for 2 months or so and i LOVED it, I believe it changed my way of viewing nature and really just being thankful that I live in a place where all this life lives right at my backyard, and hey if they live this close to my house I guess it must be pretty great place to live.
Eventually I was able to even recognize the sound of the different types of birds, and I started developing this new skill of being aware of my surroundings in a way I never could have before. I have been very busy lately, with work, and other endeavors in my life, luckily I had a moment to look at some of these pictures and be grateful for a very positive moment in life.
Namaste,
Olmedo
