YOUTH OF TODAY, ARE THEY STILL THE HOPE OF TOMORROW?
"Kabataan ay ang pag-asa ng bayan"(The youth is the hope of our country). Our greatest hero in our country Dr. Jose Rizal once said those lines, according to our history books. Indeed, the youth of today will soon be the next leaders in the next generations to come and there actions today will shape the course of tomorrow. But as you can hear or see in our country, can you still say that they are the hope of the future of our country?
But I'm not saying that they are hopeless of course. I still see youths that are bright, shine with intellect, active in the community, and has a promising future. Unfortunately this youths can only be counted by fingers compare to the bunch of stupid youths of today.
I can say that the youths of today in our country are mostly stupid because they do not know the circumstances of their actions. They fail to see that in order to get a good job, you need to finish your studies first. They fail to surmise that being unemployed will leave them and their family in perpetual poverty. They fail to see that poverty will make them vulnerable to all sorts of problem. It is not wrong to explore things at that certain age but someday you will need to grow up and deal with it. One of the other problems i notice of our youths today is, ("masyado silang mapupusok") their goals. They are more focus in their "relationship goals" instead of their "CAREER GOALS", which is actually more essential in the long run. And at that young certain age you can't still differentiate love and lust. So they end up getting married at a very young age. And one of the most disturbing thing i notice about the youths of today are, they are so materialistic. Yes, there is nothing wrong in wanting more. There's nothing wrong in having a good stuff, like a good smartphone, branded clothes and shoes, etc. However, those things can wait, you can still buy those, when you are successful enough to have those necessities. But for now you can just stick with basic phones(basic phones can still make a call and texts anyway) Instead of burdening your parents with those kind of stuffs. And lastly, i noticed that most of the youth today want to be famous especially in social media. They'll do anything just to have a piece of fame.(Sa mga kababayan ko diyan hindi ko po nilalahat ah).
I haven't visited foreign countries but I don't think they have the same problem like we do. I am a movie lover and a gamer(husband and i play DOTA when we have spare time). I notice the youths in foreign films that when they are in college they will go to universities and stay their until they graduate, leave their families. And when the time comes they can already live independently. And many of these youths in other countries also comes from struggling middle-class families. But they have been able to be successful despite of the circumstances.
So who's to blame? Is it because of our romance-centered media? Or is it because our government is not paying too much attention to our youths today? Or maybe because of poverty here in our country? Yes, we all know that there's a lot of circumstances that we need to consider. We know it's hard to rise with all the odds that life is offering us. But, is it not possible to rise up above with all these odds? "Yes it is hard, but it is possible".
Youths need to know what they want for their future, they need to dream and achieve that dream. Sabi nga sa linya sa kanta "Kung ayaw may dahilan, Kung gusto palaging merong paraan" (Nothing will ever break us, wala talaga as in wala.LOL)
Mangarap ka Kabataang Pilipino

I believe that the youth today can still do a lot of wonderful things in the future...
They can do more essential things if they are guided at a young age and carry on. They are still the hope of tomorrow
Kabataan padin po ang hope ng ating future.. Dati akala ko ang youth, age range niyan ay hanggang 18. Nun pala, constitutionally, 15-30 years old po according sa RA 8044...
