Jessica Cox earned her pilot’s license On October 10, 2008 after three years of training. She qualified to fly a light sport aircraft to an altitude of 10,000 feet. She received an Able Flight Scholarship and soloed under the instruction of Parrish Traweek.

Her first flight was in a plane called Ercoupe which is one of the few airplanes made without pedals. The non existence of the pedals allows Jessica to freely use her feet as hands.

Jessica used three years instead of the usual six months to complete her light- weight aircraft license. She had to practice for 89 hours before she became the first pilot with no arms.

Jessica Cox was born in 1983 in Arizona and had her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona. As most people use their hands to do things, she uses her feet. Amazingly just like others, she is able to drive a car with an unrestricted license and without modifications. She is also a former dancer and a double black belt in martial arts.

Jessica’s ahievements has been recognized by the Guinness book of records and she has been classified as The Only Pilot To Fly With Their Feet, US Inspiration Awards for Women 2012 and many more.

One of Jessica Cox favorite sayings is ‘Winners don’t do different things. They do things differently’.
