Nicolas Cage is all set to voice Superman in a new DC animated movie.

Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage will portray Superman in Teen Titans: Go! To The Movies, which is set for release on 27 July. The film will see Halsey as Wonder Woman and Lil Yachty playing Green Lantern. Will Arnett and Kristin Bell also star.

Speaking to USA Today, executive producer Sam Register said of the news, “Every superhero in the DC Universe has an impact on the fans, so we felt a great responsibility to find a voice for each character that would not only suit the role, but the playful tone of the Titans, and we’re thrilled with our cameo cast.”

This comes 20 years after Cage was first set to play Superman in the scrapped Superman Lives film.

Superman Lives went into development in the late 90's before it got permanently shelved. The film was to be directed by Tim Burton, written by Kevin Smith (Clerks) and produced by Jon Peters (Superman Returns).
