Aftermath ( An original poem by Icelle)
There's a raging storm inside of me,
like embers of eternity
right where my heart used to be
and of all that tried stupendously
you're the one who set me free
without even the slightest attempt.
My mother always warned me
don’t let emotions lead the
mind over matter has to be
Your overall necessity
But I hardly see any clarity
when you’re on my mind.
Do you even miss me?
When you lie in bed
with your train of thoughts.
Does it include me?
Or am I only with you
when you don’t have to picture it?
Do you remember me?
When you wake up in the morning,
rub the tiredness out of your eyes
and the dreams of night out of your head.
Was I a part of them?
Or am I just a faded memory?
Do you want me?
When you’re at work
and nothing is right
when the customers are rude
and your boss is uptight
Or is there someone else to make you smile?
Do you need me?
When you’re all alone
and your mind is blue.
Or when you’re angry
and you need a soothing voice
to help you see clearly?
Am I a visible necessity?
When I’m not there,
When I’m nowhere
do you still recognise my importance?
Or am I just like the air your breath?
