if i were a zombie
My wife and I are big fans of iZombie, and I thought it would be cute to write this poem for her. It is corny, graphic, and fun – I think!
Hope you all enjoy it!

If I were a zombie,
Would you still love me?
If knowing I have to eat brains,
To keep me from going insane,
Is part of my everyday diet,
Your feelings for me, would you try to fight it?
Would you be okay,
As I sit across from you eating an egg white/brain omelet?
Or would you find this a dismay,
Urging your innards to want to vomit?
If I were a zombie,
Would you still hug me?
Would you have it in your beating heart,
To challenge the saying ‘Til death do us part?
Or would your heart be persistent,
In not acknowledging my existence?
Would you still tell me you love me everyday?
And hold my hand, as cold as it is,
Overlooking the decay,
And still offer my lips a kiss?
If I were a zombie,
I hope you find it in your beating heart,
To push pause, rewind, and restart,
And find it in you to remember why it is you love me.
My wife and I also love iZombie! It's not entirely dissimilar from a story I wrote called Gentle Werewolf.
Nice! Is that story here on steemit?
And now the first part is up! I'd love for you to read it!
Oh man, I'm looking forward to reading this now! Glad I inspired you!
Yay! Let me know when you've read it! I'll put up more scenes every couple days. Tell your friends! I like storytelling for an audience :P
It isn't. Perhaps I'll release it in chunks. In fact, you know what? I'll start today with the first few pages. Yeeha! Thank you for the question that became a suggestion!
I love it. Makes me want to go watch a good zombie movie right now. There was this one that was about a girlfriend/boyfriend zombie couple like you described. Title: Warm Bodies. You two might like it, if you haven't seen it yet. Cheers!
Haha funny you mentioned "Warm Bodies" because we actually did see that in theatres. My not-yet-wife at the time wanted to go out to the movies and there really wasn't anything good out that weekend. I read the synopsis and I was like, "Ah, Zombie Romeo and Juliet. Let's go see this one, hun." She was like, "whatever."
We really did not have much expectation for it going in and was really impressed after watching it. My now wife said it was the best Romeo and Juliet rendition she ever saw. It's good to have low expectations sometimes :)
I never watch trailers. I saw a new zombie movie that was pretty good recently on Amazon Prime. "The Girl Who Has Everything". It was worth a look.
I can't seem to find that title. Does it go by a different name, possibly?
I had it totally wrong. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4547056/ Girl with all the gifts. my bad.
No worries! This does look interesting. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks @runrudy !
So you haven't seen it. Cool. check it out sometime. It's worth a look.
Warm Bodies was also an inspiration for me! ZomRomCom!
Haha... we need more ZomRomCom for sure!
For some time now, I've wanted to write a post-post apocalypse story in a world where zombies are a nuisance like cockroaches, and we would follow the lowly janitor who has to clean up after the private security exterminators who "exterminate" zombie infestations.
And he falls in love with the boss's daughter, being groomed for the corporate world. She mistakes him for one of the military-esque employees.
And his best friend is one of those.
And his mom is a hippy who wants to protect zombies.
And his dad is a zombie.
Horror comedy.
