Nightmare
by J. Jueco

I wake up inside a dark room
and hear no living voices.
I heard from its walls—
a big roaring light
and tears from heaven
whispers besides me.
My eyes scare me to death
as silhouette comes out
from the bushes
into the room
through the windows.
My body hair stands
as a long howl gives me chills.
I force myself to scream
but my tongue curls in
and I can’t speak.
I try to move and run
but my body betrays me.
It was like Medusa
put me to stone.
My heart beats
like festive drumroll.
The shadow from the bushes
comes close to grab me.
In shock, I close my eyes
and feel a warm water
flowing to my stoned thighs
I hear a good bang on the door.
A familiar voice comes
and slightly tap on me.
I open my eyes and
and saw mom.
‘am glad to wake up
from a nightmare.
I hear a silly laugh
from my sis and bro.
Feel ashamed to know.
I peed on my pants.
