I wish I was , part 1. a poem by Paul Cattermole
I wish I was a showman.
Showing everywhere
Showing up and showing down
Showing auburn hair
I wish I was an ostler .
Ostling to the bank
Ostling in and ostling out
We know it's going to tank
I wish I was a carpenter.
With a chisel and a block
I'd chip away all night and day
Working on my lot
I wish a was a fireman
The hero's of the town
Squirting all the fires out
hosing them right down
I could have been a sailor
Mechanic or a jock
A bakers boy
A butchers dog
A piggy in a trough
I never was a liar
But some they claim to be
The bigger half , the better self
The duality . In Me
