The Puzzle of Love
Two loving couples sitting on the front porch,
arranging a set of jigsaw puzzles,
They remind them of their flower of love,
how it started from a flower bud and then
bloomed into a red rose.
Their puzzles would follow them wherever they go,
cause they were the symbols of their love.
They arranged and arranged the puzzles,
hoping that the bits and pieces will fit one another,
praying that both of them will suit each other,
He said, “Love I love you, I want to give you the world, the heaven and the paradise too.
I just want to give you a world, as pretty as you are to me.
Cause I am your soul, I want to present you a puzzle of our love.
So they sat down and made a puzzle of love.
They made it an art to live by, they fitted in every home and created every beautiful child.
He left a small piece of puzzle, unattended, allowing her to fill the emptiness of his heart and
adding the last touch to the puzzle of love.
He said to her, "Love, I only live a little, try to understand.
I put my soul in the puzzle, we have created with these four hands.
Please fill the last piece of love in my soul.
Please cover the hole in my heart.
And give me the last breath of yours, cause I can’t live without you.
She replied, "I made this with my blood and sweat, how can I ever ignore the last piece of our love.
I will fit it in no matter what happens to you and me.
Neither will I let your heart wound nor bleed.
I am assured that this puzzle will cure your heart.”
Thanks to Jewel’s song the Painter that inspired me to write this poem.
