The shot

We all want to take THE shot. We all want to hit the bullseye. But you can’t just shoot.
First you need to choose a weapon for your target. Maybe you want to use a big gun, but it’s not suitable, or maybe you don’t like small ones but they seem perfect for the task. So even if you don’t like your tool, you have to learn how to use it. You need to operate with the best fit for your shot. Train your skills, train your patience, focus on the strike. Then the test comes. You need to learn how to shoot. You will have a lot of test shots. Everytime through a different angle, different position, different maneuver. Some times you will hit, sometimes you won’t. You will feel like you are not good enough. You might even want to quit. That’s where the real test comes. You will start asking yourself how bad do you want this. Are you ever going to hit it? Is this really your target? Maybe you didn’t make the right choice. Maybe you will never be good enough. You will never know. Truth is until you fail you will never know. And even if you fail you might still not know. But its up to you to take the risk. Its up to you to ask yourself how much are you willing to risk. How much are you willing to put on the table.
And then you train harder. You practice the right weapon, you study the details, you better your skills and you stop asking yourself questions. You load the gun. You don’t know if you are ready. Until you shoot, you will never know. The only thing you have to ask yourself is- did you train good. Do you know your target. Have you chosen the best set of skills. Do you have the answers for yourself? Good.
Now look back. Take a look at the training. Take a look at the process. Was it worth it? Did it make you a better person? Did you learn an important set of skills that turned you into a more advanced you? If the answer is yes then your target is worth it.
Now. Its time. You have to put yourself in a positon. You’ve got one single shot. One bullet. But…. Wait. You forgot the timing. You trained so hard and now…. You don’t want to blow it just by bad timing right? Take a deep breath. Timing can be a bitch. You need to wait .You think you are all prepared but you need the right time. So put yourself in a position. Put your hands on the trigger. And wait. You only have one shot. And the target isn’t still as the ones on the training. Target may come when you least expect and it moves within seconds. So…. Take your time. Choose your spot. And carpe diem. Are you ready?
Now shoot.

Did you hit or miss? Or maybe your hand is still on the trigger.
I know mine is. Still there..

Sort:

I am taking my shot right now

heheh! what did you shoot?

Hm. My hand is still on the trigger.
