Dying Lungs

in #poetry8 years ago

She was so brave

couldn’t save

Her precious lungs

I couldn’t succour

She was slipping

Out of my hands

Yet hanging on

To my pleading fingertips

I held back the water

Baring the beeping back round

A customary kiss

On her naked scalp

That beautiful scalp

Someone help!

I wish I knew

That that would be

Her endmost kiss

I set her free

I’m all alone

I have no other

The water has come

Farewell mother
