A heart of darkness
Brought into the light
It cherishes someone whom the darkness would have hurt
So it comes to their domain to lurk
It takes some time and care
But others agree to have it here
Is it happy?
Nothing is right
Trying to fit in, it feels sick
But it will keep going
To be by their side
It doesn’t belong here
It must go against all it knows
Must go against all that it is
It knows the risk
It grows weak
It will stay a little longer
Until it fades away to dusk
