The Irony
Without the bitter, the sweet isn't as sweet
Without the forceful, the gentle won't be as gentle
Without shame, people won't be as discreet
And love won't feel so good without grief
Yet if you question the existence of both love and pain
Then take a moment to ask yourself the true meaning both
For their existence and connection is what makes man sane
And if its meaning fails to bring you enlightenment, you may loathe.
Love brings forth empathy
As anger brings forth rage
And plants a seed of apathy
In which love goes encaged
Oh sweet is the love of an admirer
Cruel is the loathing of the malevolent
Both so distinct, both seem purer
Fortuitous, accidental and unmeant
Love is the counterpart of hate
And so as hate is the counterpart of love
But if one chooses to hate, he shall act an animal
But if one chooses to love, he shall act a god
