KITCHEN AND THE OTHER ROOM

Don’t look surprised
Did you not hear?
About the kitchen and the other room
Don’t look despised
Were you not there?
When feminism was swept with a broom
He promised thirty-five percent
And votes you gave to a saint
Your own you abandoned to float
In tears she left with one vote

Listen up you credit wife
Shall you slave the rest of your life?
No school, no work, no battery
For sex you burn a thousand calorie
Every state, a baby making factory
Some for adoption, others for Calvary
Reproduce no more, illiterate placenta
Conceive no more, uncivilized womb
Find your way to the voting center
Vacate the kitchen and the other room

Receive some sense young women
It’s time for women to woe men
How long shall you rig for a husband
Whose political meetings are on girl’s waistband?
How long shall you rub Mascara?
When garri is two cups for one hundred Naira
How long shall you worship erection?
When breast milk is high on recession
Get off your husband’s shadow
Vote impunity off the window.

Dedicated to every woman

I enjoyed your poetic combination of politics, marriage and feminism all in one pack. It unravels your creativity degree and uniqueness.
When next you want to do this again, for those that aren't poetical incline, you could do a synopsis right either after or before for understanding and audience flow.
