Let's Think About This "The Authority" (Poem+Thoughts)

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)
I would like to touch upon vital questions that we should think about. Of course, as usual, I’ll try to accompany everything with a laconic poem and illustrations.
I welcome your vision of the topics touched upon and I’ll be glad with your reply.
Let's think about this!

The Authority

Black ways and secret places…
Empty smiles and empty faces…

The authority...how you change grimaces!
This is an eternal masquerade...
You always make the promises,
It's no wonder the show must be paid!

Let's think about this!

The thirst for power embraces the hearts of many people. Everyone wants to create his own State. It can be as large as the largest States or it is limited by the size of one family. People try to subjugate other people.
But what is real power? Have you ever thought about this?
Anyone who influences the lives of many people and is able to limit their freedom feels the power over them.
Real power is an opportunity to influence people's lives.
But what can influence people more than love, kindness, compassion and righteousness?
When a person resorts to cruelty and injustice to strengthen their power, this causes protest and rebellion in the hearts of people.
And what is the result?
For a while he can feel very influential and powerful…
But this is not real power, isn’t it?

«Never judge your own poem too harshly. If you love it, then someone else loves it too, just the way it is. If it speaks to you - it's good. And not all poetry is meant to rhyme, either. If it sounds good and makes sense - if it changes the reader at all - it's good.»

No one has the right to restrict the freedom of another person.
Not even to himself, because we are in life to fulfill some mission.
Many times we see cases of submission, due to economic necessity, but it is very bad.
A ruler should not use his authority to humiliate his people. Delivering money without meaning, because the people are hungry and people pay with votes, keeping irresponsible people in power. This is our case in Venezuela.
Bun poem to reflect. Always a pleasure to read.
