Day’s last breath - Day 93
Large rays of light
Emanate from behind
a cold dark, towering mountain
Like giant fingers holding back the night.
Thousands of streaks
Meander through
a maze of leaves in a thick, cold dark forest
Slicing through the blackness.
A single beam
Bursts through
a tiny crack in a dank, cold dark basement
Concentrating into a small circle of warmth.
Day’s last breath
Softly whispers
Into the harsh, cold dark night
I will return.

That beautiful! The eternal duality night-day / darkness-light and the promise that every day there will be a new dawn.
Good job, honey! I hug you tight!
Whoah...i like how you capture the magic of sunset in this poem.
Your choice of words really gives one sound imagery not forgetting the pictures too.
The simplicity of your diction too is worth applauding hence in its own way it contributes to the elegance of your style.
And i think this amazing last stanza can be interpreted from the standpoint of light at the end of the tunnel, of glory after hardship, of healing after pain. The day must return after each and every of our harsh, cold, dark nights.
Good job ma'am.
