Henge of Words
And close your eyes with holy dread
For he on honey-dew hath fed,
And drunk the milk of Paradise.
—Samuel Coleridge
And found
A black stone;
So never
Go into the woods
Alone.
Just at dusk
When the west
Is red
I saw a star fall
And felt
The dread.
In autumn
There is
A witching tree
Never go there
Except
With me.
When leaves
Are bright
And nights are cold
There are
Dark secrets
That can’t be told.
I saw a star fall
Out of the sky;
Stars still
Fall
when
I
look
in
your
eyes.
So it’s dark, windy and wet here in the UK. I just got in from work and looking out my window at the stars this poem really just fitted into where my head was at. Thank you for sharing it.
I'm glad it resonated with your mood, @skunkape30uk - Love stars :)
