Original Poem – Tin Foil hats and ‘those people’

in #poetry6 years ago

My tin foil hat, it has three corners.
Three corners has my hat.
If it did not have three corners,
It would not be my hat.

My hat it is there to protect me,
from what is there to inflict me.
Inflict me from where I do not know,
Inflict me from ‘those people’ you know.

Those people do this -
and those people do that.
Those people prepare to,
boil me in a vat.

But when I stare out from beneath my hat,
I find those people are never in sight.
The system, it seems, is giving me such fright,
It needs to change so I can sleep through the night.

Sung somewhat to the tune of: Mein hut, der hat drei ecken

Just a bit of a silly poem! Thanks for reading. I always value your support and comments. The pictures were taken by me with my Galaxy S9+. The video is not my work, the other text and graphics copyright 10/10/2018 Lightsplasher & Litesplasher.

That was fun and little midday silliness is always welcomed in by books. I have a bunch of halloween inspired poetry and some of it silly ... I really need to do some posting and soon:)

I always like to try to lighten up when I can. I look forward to seeing some of your Halloween inspired poetry.

good poetry and interesting videos, if I may know who is the model of the video clip ... are you my best friend ...

Not me - I had nothing to do with the video clip. I just found it posted on Youtube and liked the way it was sung. (The original German song is partially the inspiration for the poem)

ooo ... I guess it's your dear baby, about that I've never seen your photo ... I'm curious about you ...

Excellent writing experience and great photography.
Thanks @lightsplasher
Have a great day

Thank you - you too, have a nice day. :)

The tin cap looks really good, and the enlightenment of the picture is quite clear, I'm happy to enjoy about brother @lightsplasher, I hope you can also enjoy my new post.

It is nice to see you posting again. I look forward to seeing more of your photography.

Very beautiful poem about the hat I like it. This poem is very funny and beautiful. I like your work @lightsplasher.

Thank you. I guess 'beautiful' fits in an odd way, lol.

LOL I wonder what is the origin of the Tin Foil Hat @lightsplasher?

You don't have your own tin foil hat? How are you planning to protect yourself from all the government mind control rays? Arrrg.... You better make one. LOL. ;)

What do you got there, the Hope diamond LOL??? Very pretty indeed.

You are quite the poet!
After all this time,
I had never known it :)

BTW my foil is inside....the hat is just camouflage lol.

Oh goodness, it really needs three corners. Plus the top should come to a peak like the Great Pyramid of Giza, with the sides sloping at exactly the same angle (or reasonably close). How else do you expect to get all the enhanced life force energy emanating from the galactic center? Plus it won't have the proper protection from the governmental mind control rays. LOL.

Just kidding, the hat really looks good on you and thanks much for the complement - I really haven't been writing much poetry for years.

Drats! No wonder it hasn't been working LOL

@lightsplasher, I love your hat!

And your playful poem, about existential things.

Like Seuss, and Silverstein... but wonderfully YOU!! :-)

Thank you! I was a big Seuss fan as a child. Especially, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"

maybe the poetry is hard to understand for everyone in all parts of the world, but I'm sure the skill to play the guitar is to make everyone amazed.
thank you @lightsplasher for sharing

Poetry is often difficult to understand. Sometimes humor is too. I think there are many things that will not be translated correctly without a deep understanding from native speakers of the language. Oh well.

Just to be clear the video is not my work. It was just something that I liked when I viewed it and that I shared because the licensing of Youtube is open to sharing links and the poem was partially inspired by the German children's song. You can follow the link to find the original guitar player if you like.

Hello dear friends ho are you,,😊

Thank you so much dear friend.

hahaha, it's really fun my friend @lightsplasher.
