Steemotion Contest Week 2 Entry: Fear Outweighs (Original Poetry)

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

In the second week of this fun steemotion contest I have decided to put my hat in the ring with a quick poem on this week's topic: FEELINGS OF FEAR

Join in on the fun here: https://steemit.com/steemotion/@uniwhisp/steemotion-contest-feelings-of-fear

Fear Outweighs

Did you know the fear of loss
Is strong than that of greed
Our hostile avoidance of cost
Overrides thoughts to exceed

People try to act bad and try to act tough
But -
How many are emotionally intelligent enough

To realize that something to lose
Drives actions, both good and bad
The strive for happy is overridden by desire to avoid sad

I’ve worked so hard and long in this career
Change is too big a risk to bare
Years of marriage don't rock the boat
Let's not risk the wife getting mad
Otherwise it may all come to a crash

Crypto, down 50% it can’t be there
Take a loss, don’t you dare
It’ll come back, it’s only fair

Problems left and problems right
Pushed to the shadows, keep it out of sight
If we ignore it all - it will be alright
Run from fear your entire life

How many times will the dust be needed for the water,
Why me, how many times will be mud,
Why should I build me,
What organized?
Two legs, one foot puck, light light,
Tell the victim of the possibility, why me?
That old star dust, in that game,
Why, why I invite you?
Why me, why am i, o times?
What are you like me? O epic?
Why are you doing that, right?
Light absorbed, black is black;
O epic, why me?
Why am i dear
Why are you trapped?
Why did I understand liability?
I and you,
Why, why, why, why?

Oh crypto down 50% had the whole steemit community in tears!

Haha, I may have been a fortune teller. Crypto getting beat up today :-(

Nice one Mitchell. Those lyrics would suit a tune of mine I reckon called Sweet Little Thing. Care to take a listen? https://steemit.com/dtube/@jeffandhisguitar/mx21g1ol
