Breathe (Original Poetry)
Breathe
A shadow will rise up from a maddening world
A buried, long hidden, and tumultuous world
But it's the shadow last buried so many moons ago
And the moon is the keeper; the moon holds the soul
Though hands are still bound; in memories still
Breathe out the memory
Breathe out the thought
Of every last reason; where reasons are bound
The child whispers slowly
He has no need for repeats
Speak once and I'll listen
To the souls longing core
Why am I hidden, what has me hidden away?
The shadow laughs slowly
But it thinks not, and knows not
And withers away
I packaged it up
It was meant to stay gone
But I opened the package myself all along
Dug up the grave
Cleaned up the stain
Wiped down the surface
Made peace with the pain
The darkness still has a withering stare
Perhaps I just forgot
Forgot to play dead
But it bothers me not
I'm learning to breathe in clean air

You bring all the feels here, mate. Every line feels like a brush stroke in the vivid imagery you have painted. I feel this is one of those better served with your soothing narration. I hope you come around to dSounding off once again!
Thanks for the encouraging words guiding me back to recording these. I should get into a routine, but it is more mentally draining than just writing and posting. Mind you that used to be as well, so all in good time. I need to record a new one and test out the volume issue, then I'll see how I go. And thanks for the generous feedback on the poem itself.
Gah. Your writing is just so lovely. <3
Thank you kindly :)
This is so rich with imagery, @naquoya. What beautiful work!
Thank you, I truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts and feedback. Glad it caught your eye.
Beautiful, and so gently optimistic.
It's good to know that is how it has been perceived, thank you.
Wao, what a poem.. I love it
Thank you, much appreciated :)
@naquoya this poem is healing not only for you but for me and I guess for others. I also have a few packages to take out from the grave. I thought they were dead but they come back. Reconciliation is necessary for me to continue.
Thank you for sharing this. I'm glad the poem communicated to you in this way. I know it flowed quite freely as I began to write it, and those are usually my best ones. They tend to write themselves.
NICE! I like it a lot. I love when dark imagery is interwoven with strands of life like this. I come bearing news, here is an invite to the dolphinschool discord server would love to have you https://discord.gg/RrUyccN

I wish I knew how to write poetry like this, sometimes these ones just happen :)
you are so pulling my leg! cut it out ... i don't want to walk lopsided ... :p
That's a soul toucher. We cannot really bury shadows, can we? We must clean them up and work through the pain for them to disappear. Very nicely done.
@Lahvista
I suppose if we bury them, or try to, they come back from the dead eventually. To remind us that we have work to do. I suppose. Thanks for your comment :)
Most excellent words to inspire the world
be well
