Art<>Life

My jaded art
To play your heart
Divide it neatly into bars

To beat for me
Repeatedly
A seat above your symphony

A solemn verse
That we'd rehearse
Coerced undo this curse

To hear a morbid sound
A chord unbound
Your tears from eyes to page to ground

Diminished dawn
Unfinished song
Within us recognition that we don't belong
The timing's wrong
Our music ends and life feigns on

We wrote our focused parts and lost the whole
Your notes an opus written on my soul
