"Thoughts & prayers can go to hell." A Song.
Thoughts & prayers can go to hell—
There's too much work to do
to sit and wail and tuck your tail
and drum up much ado
'bout how the world ain't fair so really there
ain't nothin' we can do.
Well, I say thoughts and prayers can go to hell,
And let their makers join 'em, too.
Thoughts & prayers can go to hell.
God can't hear 'em anymore:
He's busy piling up the dead
on His immortal golden shore
so He can burn 'em down to cinder-ash
and clear up room for more.
He lost His track of thoughts & prayers,
& He ain't keeping score no more
So send 'em down the devil's way;
Maybe he'll have some use for 'em.
Thoughts & prayers can go to hell
where they make a demon food:
They make a gravy thick & fat to
feed the devil's growin' brood.
They slurp the snot from screamin' babes
while howlin' daddies set the mood
And they burp up sobbin' mamas' cries,
'cause demons is just rude.
Thoughts & prayers can go to hell,
where they'll offer satisfaction.
Of Jesus Christ, they said, "by God,
now here's a man of action!"
He had the gall to offer all
a place in heaven's faction
So they strung him up, & wrung him out
& made his bones the main attraction.
As if Death were satisfaction.
An equal opposite reaction...
