Strange, isn't it?. Anything that infers that we've "disappointed Mother Nature" strikes a chord. Some deep down primeval instinct.

When we give her agency, and hence the power to judge ... we're afraid of her judgement. We ate from the Tree of Knowledge and now we feel naked and ashamed ... because we know we're guilty.

printing minerals into a matchbook
filled with gunpowder,
pollen, and parchment.

This was the segment I kept coming back to ... we use Nature (to make the matches) to destroy Nature (that start the fire).
