I write about the things I regret more than the things I desire. Most of the time, I can't keep my mouth closed even when my mind is screaming at me to shut it.
Even when my heart is bleeding, my words are sharp.
And they cut.
And when I recover, I think about all the things I could've done better.
I wrote this poem as a constant reminder that what I say means so much more than what I feel.
I think we all hope that the gap between our thoughts and our words will get smaller
and smaller
as we get closer to ourselves.
