Poem: First Gasp
from our very first gasp,
copies are wasted,
given away freely,
never collected,
can’t be stored,
most moments we
take for granted
our limited supply
in crisis, we might remember
in reflection, we might appreciate
in hindsight, we often regret
violent yet subtle
we possess only one
last breath
and try as we might,
sharing isn’t optional
