Poetry #1 : Flame

in #poetry7 years ago (edited)

In that corner of brick and coal
Lay still the fire burning in serenity
Ladies in silk, gentlemen in gold watches, can't help but notice
Its dancing flame lighting the room.

A complete flaring iridescence
There were specks of blue, orange, yellow, and green
And red conquered the magnificent spectrum.
In her shinning corner, her thoughts began to meander.

Everyone stopped, admired, and walked away
Slowly, sweetly, solitude waltzes in her way
Every shadow of her graced flame, she realized she needs company.

Then came a fly, delinquent and fragile
Fascinated, she whispered her hiss of "hi"
Hovering in the spectacle, he felt her warmth
Such beauty, he plunged, lost in her yearning flame.

If you're feeling cold physically and emotionally may this poem spark a little warmth and a good dose of fantasy
Thank you for reading!

Lots of love,
Leah
